Frontline Health is a demonstration of AstraZeneca's commitment to improving healthcare for Canadians. While Frontline Health is a corporate initiative, it is not a commercial one. It is the result of a thoughtful, co-creative process between our company, our employees and frontline stakeholders. Frontline Health reflects our values and our desire to act with courage and leadership in the Canadian health care system.

It all started with our employees. In 2004, a team of employees looked at how we could reshape our community involvement to make a sustainable and lasting difference in Canadian healthcare.

They had several requirements - the cause must reflect:
  • our compassion for patients;
  • our passion for healthcare;
  • our concern for the less fortunate and those on the margins of society;
  • and our courage to go places that other companies avoid.
After considerable discussion and reflection, the concept for Frontline Health was born, stemming from our conviction that every Canadian from coast to coast to coast, whether they are living on the street or hundreds of miles from the nearest hospital, has the right to quality care.
